Questions that
move us forward.

Research at the intersection of human capability, leadership, education, and the public institutions that shape our shared future.

Areas of inquiry

3 areas

Leadership, Innovation and Responsible Transformation

My work considers how leaders make sense of AI, govern its use and create the conditions for responsible innovation. I am particularly interested in educational leadership, algorithmic authority, human-AI collaboration and the ethical tensions that arise when institutions adopt emerging technologies.

This research connects leadership and innovation with questions of responsibility, inclusion, equity and meaningful human participation.

Question

How should leaders guide institutions through technological change while protecting human values and institutional purpose?

Education, Learning and Assessment

My work explores how generative AI is changing teaching, curriculum, assessment and the evidence we use to determine whether learning has occurred. Rather than treating AI primarily as a problem of detection or academic misconduct, I examine how education can make human reasoning, judgement, creativity and reflection more visible.

This area includes my work on AI-enabled assessment, educational leadership and the Person, Process and Product Framework.

Question

What should education develop when AI can generate knowledge and produce sophisticated answers?

AI, Work and Human Capability

My work examines how intelligent technologies influence professional identity, human judgement, workplace relationships and perceptions of individual value. I am particularly interested in the less visible human effort required to interpret, verify and take responsibility for AI-generated outputs.

This research contributes to wider conversations about the future of work, human-AI collaboration and the capabilities people will need as cognitive tasks become increasingly automated

Question

What happens to expertise, identity and human relationships when AI becomes part of everyday work?
